That Orange Midi

I’m usually not attracted to bright colours, but there was something about this orange material when I saw it. The midi and maxi gathers skirt were such a huge trend in my last year of Uni so I ended up with three after succumbing to peer pressure.

I’ve had this orange midi skirt for so long but it was such a struggle to find something to pair it with. I don’t even remember wearing it at all.

Let me show you what I did with this skirt. I paired the skirt, still cannot decide if it’s rust or burnt orange with this hot pink spaghetti top and I was delighted. Like I finally found something to wear it with. I styled it without a blazer, with the black blazer hung on my shoulders like the cool kids do, and then I wore the blazer.

I paired it with a brown slim belt, a black clutch, hand candy and these black suede heels I cannot seem to get over.

A basic tee or chambray shirt also known as a denim shirt would work for an informal look, and a dressy top for a formal look. Whatever you decide, crop tops, sleeveless, long sleeves, buttoned down shirts would work with a midi skirt like mine.

If your skirt is a bright orange, you might want to make the skirt the centre piece and every other thing simple. Coloured tops in white, light grey, navy blue, black, nude, floral would make your shade of orange awesome. Footwear in black or nude would be perfect.

What colour would you wear with an orange midi skirt?

See you soon.
